Cleft chestnut post and rail fencing

This robust and durable fencing is both elegant and rustic. Sweet chestnut grows in abundance in our Herefordshire woodlands , and is naturally durable, with no need for preservative treatment.
The cleft half round posts are 6’6” (approx 2m) long have
top diameter minimum 7”.
Corner posts are full round (minimum 7” tops) with 2 sets of mortises at right angles. (If you need other angles for corner posts, please let us know and we can tailor the corners to your own fencing project). All the posts are peeled.
Also available are cleft pales and our own version of oak pegs or “treenails” to fix them to the rails.
Prices are as collected from the woods in Herefordshire. Delivery and erection services are available if needed at cost price.
