- 4 strong durable cleft chestnut legs for stability
- 2-3” thick bench and platform with level surface doubling as a work bench
- ideally suited to fitting a vice
- single swinging arm dumb head style gripper with multiple adjustments

Having been using shave horses for over 30 years, I have made and used many designs, from the bodgers 3 legged double swinging arm traditional English bodgers type; evolving through various incarnations to this current version. There are loads of advantages to this design and it’s now my go-to for every job, from using the broad jaws as a cleaving break to using the vice on the end, as well as shaving billets large and small as an actual shave horse.
The whole thing is robust and and stable. It can be packed down and transported in a car (with the seats down).

Please note, vice not included; you’ll have to fit your own.
